Meet Mistress Nyx
Hi,
My name is Mistress Nyx. I have been in the BDSM/Kink scene for over 10 years at this point. I was living in South Korea as an ESL teacher when I joined a Burlesque group as a way to work through my body dysmorphia. I have struggled with my weight my entire life.
While I did Burlesque and I was feeling more confident about my body, several people in the group had noticed my natural talent for commanding a room. Jokingly, they had suggested I become a Dominatrix. I didn't know that was even an option!
I started by seeking out male doms (because I still thought I was straight and thought BDSM was always 100% sexual). I didn't have particularly good experiences, but I did feel more confident in my abilities. I began seeing submissives in South Korea, playing into a large variety of fetishes and kinks such as Impact Play, Sensation play, Bondage, Chastity Devices, Body Worshipping, Toilet Training, etc.
I started doing Leatherwork when I moved back to the United States in 2021. My leatherwork is informed by my background in costume design, as well as my experience as a dominatrix. I emphasize quality pieces that cater to beginners and advanced skill levels, and take pride in approaching sales with an open mindset and a focus on education for safety. If you ever see me at a Market, I am always willing to teach different techniques and safety protocols. I hope that my enthusiasm will encourage all my customers to explore their desires and connection with others and the world around each and every one of us.
Vision for the Future
I am currently working on a Podcast to speak on the intersectionality of BDSM/Kink and identity. This is something I am very passionate about and am looking forward to promoting better understanding.
I am also looking to begin teaching my own in-person classes for people who are interested in testing out different aspects of the community in a safe and well-informed environment. Unfortunately, because this facet of society is relatively 'underground,' there are many avenues that can become dangerous or predatory with the wrong person or group. I hope to bring my clarity and education so people can seek out and enjoy healthy and even healing aspects of BDSM/Kink.
